Rev. Wendy Hamilton is looking for interns to join her forward-thinking campaign for DC Delegate to Congress this Spring! 


A Minister, Mother, and the Director of Spiritual and Cultural Outreach for Andrew Yang’s 2020 Presidential Campaign, Rev. Wendy Hamilton is running for DC Delegate to Congress in 2022 and proposing fresh ideas around how, along with DC Statehood, we can transform DC residents' daily lives and outlook. Rev. Wendy is running for DC Delegate on a pragmatic and progressive platform that includes Universal Basic Income, Criminal Justice Reform, Education, Environmental Justice, Housing, Economic Justice, Cryptocurrencies, and more.


Internship Description: 

Rev. Wendy is seeking campaign strategy interns to join her campaign for DC Delegate to US Congress this fall. The experience will introduce participants to all aspects of a progressive, grassroots, and data-driven Congressional campaign. In the process, interns will build quintessential fundraising, voter contact, data analysis, writing, and digital strategic communication skills essential to the campaign and relevant to positions in politics, non-profits, and more. Our team will support participants in developing projects and campaign experiences tailored to their professional interests.


Fall Interns with Rev. Wendy Hamilton’s campaign will be joining at an exciting time of growth and implementation as our campaign develops and unleashes its strategies into the real world. Interns will have opportunities to assist Rev. Wendy and her campaign team in implementing critical aspects of their 2022 campaign strategy, including:

  • Voter Targeting and Field Operations

  • Fundraising, Finance, Donor Research

  • Planning, developing, and hosting events

  • Developing effective communications strategies

General Requirements:

  • Students with an interest in Political Science; Communications; Finance, or related

  • Energetic, diplomatic, curious, analytical, and creative 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required

  • Access to laptop and internet connection required

  • Computer skills (Excel, Word) required.

  • An interest in local politics, campaign strategy, and a willingness to learn 

  • Effective and Reliable multitasker with a strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines 

  • Research, Data, Excel, and campaign experience are a plus

  • First-hand knowledge of DC neighborhoods, local politics, and culture preferred. 

  • Second language skills are a plus

  • Applicants should be based in DC/Washingtonians and be able to attend select in person events


Applicants with at least one of the following specialized skill areas are also a plus:

  • Graphic/Web design

  • Social Media Strategy 

  • Digital fundraising 

  • Political organizing 

  • Data Mining/Analysis

  • Event management


Location: Remote or Washington, DC


Schedule: January- June 2022, 15-25 hours per week


Fall campaign internships are volunteer positions, but we can arrange course credit or community service hours.
